Visit to IBM
In February 2004 a team from the AIC visited IBM Research in Watson,
NY. The purpose was to present the wide range of research activities currently
undertaken by researchers from the AIC directly to IBM researchers in
an attempt to engender interest in collaboration on joint projects and
student exchange.
Taking part in the visit were Dermot Diamond, Gregory O’Hare,
Noel Murphy, Noel O’Connor, Alan Smeaton and Barry Smyth. Also in
attendance for some of the visit was Brian O’Donovan from IBM Dublin.
The agenda and series of meetings over two full days was organised by
IBM Research based on suggestions from the AIC. The PowerPoint slides
used during the AIC visit which summarise the series of presentations,
are available on the AIC website.
